Cost Wise Readiness / Preparedness

Pilbara Group’s Cost-Wise Readiness / Preparedness solution is based on over ten years of experience designing, implementing and using large-scale, enterprise-wide cost and predictive models for military clients.

The fundamental concept from a military perspective is to deliver the maximum readiness at the minimum cost, or get the “best bang for the buck”.  Military Readiness is defined as the military’s ability to fight and meet the demands of the national military strategy.

The solution developed by Pilbara Group includes both software and methodology to develop models to objectively measure Readiness and the cost incurred in delivering that Readiness.

Outside of the Military, Federal, State and Local governments have similar problems, however it is usually referred to as “Preparedness” – how prepared are you for major events?  Disasters?  Again, the concept is to model your organization and link measures of Preparedness to costs.

No one can accurately predict the future.  The best any organization can achieve is to be as ready as possible for any situation and to ensure management decisions can be made as quickly and effectively as possible – both operationally and fiscally.

The overall objective should be to optimize the Readiness versus Cost equation.   Organizations need to be agile organizations.  In this time of tight budgets and ever increasing threats there needs to be a focus on ensuring that organizations can react quickly to changes in circumstances, within budget constraints.  Therefore innovative, agile, automated systems need to be developed to address this issue.
